Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo!

Now, let me begin by saying, this is not Romeo's fault by any stretch of the imagination. This is a cumulative effort by just about everyone, save Joshua Cribbs and Jamal Lewis.

Let the rant flow by alluding to Braylon Edwards dropping not 1 but 2 passes... the latter of those in essence snapping the bones that support all of clevelands hopes for salvaging this season...

Next we touch on an uninspired defense (save for Shaun Rogers, amazingly) that allowed rookie and 3rd stringer Ray Rice to run as if he were Forrest Gump... ("My momma always said, Stop the Run"). 20 yard completions on 3rd down when the Ravens needed 16 yards... Rice running for 154 yards... yada, yada, yada!

Finally, we need to touch on the terrifying tidbits... Derek Anderson who played reasonably well for 3 1/2 quarters of this game against the NFL's 2nd best defense, only to loose his bowels and deliver what may have been the worst screen pass in the history of screen passes to Baltimore Raven Terrell Suggs who walked into the endzone and serendipidously put us out of our misery!

Finally Part 2... The fans... I'm watching this game and from time to time, the miserable sheep known as Browns fans, begin their chanting for Brady Quinn, who would have gotten crushed against the Ravens overwhelming defense... Let's see, we couldn't run the ball, we couldn't catch the ball (See Braylon) and the fans think Brady Q is the answer... Sorry, Suckers, but that ain't cutting the mustard!

At this point of a depressing and disappointing season, let's try something new and fun and actually make an attempt to hold clevelands ADD attention span... Miami has found a way to capatilize on it's best assets... Running Backs and speed (i.e. - The daunted Wildcat offense)... So screw it... The dolphins are 5-3 and I know our schedule is brutal... Wah-Wah!!! Let's get Joshua Cribbs into some real opportunities to make something happen and let's see what Jerome Harrison can do taking a direct snap... What the hell else could happen... We lose a 2 TD lead in the 3rd quarter and give up 24 unanswered points in a game we should have won...

Oy VEy!!!

Why I think the Tampa Bay Rays are going to win the World Series in 2008

Fate.

They should have lost yesterday by all accounts. Mother Nature intervenes and the Phillies best pitcher is rendered irrelavent for now. Selig changes the rules on the fly to allow for a muddy 5th inning Rays run from Upton to tie the game 2-2 and allow for the easy choice of suspending the game.

Both Pena and Longoria got hits... It's on now!

So there you have it, the Rays will win the latest game hopefully played by wednesday evening and take the next two at home and just like that, my prediction comes true.

The Rays live on the edge

The Tampa Bay rays dropped Game 3 by a 5-4 score last night or this morning as was the case.

The rays used B.J.Upton speed to have him leg out an infield dribbler to reach first base safely, then he stole second on the first pitch and took third base thereafter, add in a poor throw by the Phillies catcher Ruiz and Upton came home to tie the game 4-4 heading into the 9th.

Then the Rays brought in reliever Balfour for J.P. Howell, which was a little perplexing but a "living on the edge moment"... Mix in a walk, a wild pitch, a stolen base, 5 infielders and 2 outfielders and some serious anguish and the phillies squibbed their way to a 5-4 victory which concluded sometime around 2AM.

I hope game 4 starts a wee bit earlier as I don't know if I can handle another early morning game... Thank goodness for a 9th inning win, instead of extra innings.

Things we love/hate

We love that we do NOT have to watch anymore Frank Caliendo / Frank TV promos....

We hate that an NFL player who wants a trade but is under contract cacn simply act like a spoiled brat and whine their way out of town....wink, wink Kellen...

We hate MCL, PCL, ACL, and LCL's and the fact that they are so fragile...

We hate Mike Ditka's idea for no facemasks and instead love our idea of a helmet that also protects the chin, where a good deal of these hits focus on...

We hate the good teams in the NFL this year... Buffalo, Tennessee, Carolina, Washington, boring!!! We hate that the fun teams are struggling... Indy, San Diego, New Orleans, Dallas... We need more LT, TO, and Peyton...

Kellen Winslow

Oy Vey... The first post on this blog starts with Clevelands favorite, self-labeled soldier... He's feels as if his surrogate fathers (Clevelands GM Phil Savage, or Owner Randy Lerner) don't love or respect him enough to bring him noodle soup and a soft pillow...

All i know in my short time trying to adjust to northeast Ohio sports is that, when a team pays your inflated salary even when you jeopardize your own career by stunting on a motorbike, or falsely believing you are the chosen one after 1 (one, yes only one) great season. Plus, we all know who the chosen one in northeast ohio is.

Finally, I try to sympathize with Kellen, as in perspective we all want to feel part of something, whether a job, family, group, team, etc. I can certainly see where he is coming from, but while all his ranting and raving will simply get brushed aside as "emotional" or "passionate", I would like to see any one of us go to our employer and complain about the top dog and see how well that sits. I think with our 2-4 browns, we are all a little tired and suspect of hearing what can be described as a "de-stressor" for us, stressing us all out with the whining...

I digress until the next rant....

Sean Dreznin
